Cooking for me

Hello, hello and welcome,
This week I did some cooking for myself. My boyfriend got to enjoy some too, but it was mostly for me. I found that I had extra leftover rice and technically I’m supposed to be limiting my carbs but a work in progress I am. Any who I made rice pudding for the first time, and it wasn’t bad. At first, I was confused at how easy it was to make.
Left over rice, milk, sugar, butter and vanilla. Put it in a saucepan and let it simmer for 20 minutes. I probably left it on the heat for about 30 minutes, just to see if it would thicken up some more. After it cooled, it started to thicken up. I put it in the fridge. You can eat it warm, but my experience with rice pudding I feel like it needs to be cold. It tasted good warm though.
I did not add raisins, that is a personal preference of mine. I like raisins by themselves not mixed in food. They can be covered in chocolate or yogurt but that’s it. If you want to add raisins you absolutely can. Below is the recipe I used. I hope you enjoy it like I did.
