My latest venture

If you haven't listened to the latest episode go back and listen. JK, but do subscribe to the podcast. I am officially on the keto diet as of yesterday. I got the ketosens monitor because it was in my budget. It’s pretty straightforward. I didn’t setup the date and time so ignore that.

My 1st attempt went way better than the 3rd and 4th for some reason. I learned via Google what the error codes meant. For some reason the answers weren't on the folded instructions paper. There maybe something I missed in the box but I haven't checked. But long story short the first error (error 1 or 3) was from the machine timing out while I fiddled with the needle. The 2nd error (error 4) was for not enough blood on the strip. The last failed attempt was me trying to reuse a strip because there wasn't enough blood on it. I knew better but these strips are expensive.

I bought the 50 count with 50 needles for $53 on Amazon for this very reason. I had the needle on 2.5. The first poke you are going to feel. It hurts but not super crazy. After that, you'll feel it but it won't be as noticeable as the first one. At one point I had to check to see if it poked me; I didn’t feel it at all.

I've been alternating between fingers just so I don't get any calluses. My first reading was .2 in the morning and .3 in the evening. I was excited because I was doing something right. This morning however was back at .2 but I hadn't eaten anything. What I will probably do is just take it in the evening and see what that looks like.

Overall so far its not a bad device. Its smaller than I thought it would be. The meter comes with 10 needles and 10 strips so depending on how many you go through practicing will depend on how soon you'll need to restock.

You can buy them here on Amazon:

I'm feeling excited about it. Its just maintaining from here. Which isn't too hard when I put my mind to it.

Thanks for stopping by,
Ashley
