Why is it?
These are people, not animals, not non living objects, people with feelings and emotions. It doesn't make sense to me how little America values the lives of people in general. Because it really doesn't matter if you are a citizen or not, America doesn't care. We see this almost daily in the news. Florida is about to be under water by hurricane Ian who is now a category 4 at the moment. We shall see how that plays out. Poor Puerto Rico is still trying to get power back from the storm they just got through. Where is the assistance? If we can send billions of dollars to aid Ukraine why is it that our own citizens are forced to scrap and claw to survive in this country?
We are the richest country in the world and yet, we can't seem to make sure everyone has clean drinking water. We can't figure out how to give people a living pay wage. We have to live on overtime to make ends meet. Why is it so many get offended when someone says "Hey I don't make enough money to live. Please pay me more. I miss my family and I can't keep up these hours." Amazon literally has their workers wearing diapers and peeing in water bottles because they can't take reasonable breaks. How is this allowed? Why is this allowed?
These are things that are happening in this country, it's not pretend. I know a lot if not all of it is based in racism and classism. No one cares about the poor or people of color even though if we all got together and decided to stop everything this country would fall into itself. Keeping others down keeps us all down. I just wished we all did better.
That's it, I had that on my spirit for while.
