Year of me week 3: Counting my blessings

This week has been a bit challenging for me. A lot of ups and downs so I just going to count my wins no matter how small they are.

1:  is being a child of God. It’s not always easy but He keeps me strong

2: is being able to get up every morning. There was a time when I could not walk to the bathroom in our apartment.

3: is having people in my life who care about me and love me.

4: is being able to work. It may not to cover all the bills, but it helps.

5: Not being as stressed as I was last year. I am more optimistic about life and the future.

6: Being grateful for my therapist. She has kept me grounded and helped me process my feelings and struggles better.

7: Being able to recognize when I need “me” time or down time. This does tie in with the therapist but knowing the signs when I’m getting overwhelmed has been helpful. And I say this all the time get you a therapist, even if everything is rainbows and sunshine. To keep them good days rolling just have someone check up on your mental.

8: Being able to use my talents to help other people. I am so grateful to you all who listen to this podcast and read the blog each week. Thank you. I did restart this podcast to give me something to look forward to. I was in a dark place, and I wanted to get back to feeling like myself. So, thank you for listening each week. We are a small community, but you show up each week so thank you.

9: Feeling better about myself more and more each day. I have had to actively try to be better to and for myself. If you are used to talking to yourself a certain way and thinking the worst of yourself, you may be able to relate. There were times when I would mess up and treat myself like the worst of the worst. It took a lot of work to stop from thinking that way and treating myself better. Many times, I would have to tell myself “STOP!” sometimes verbally just to keep my thoughts from spiraling. It has helped a lot.

10: Would be the freedom to be myself. It has taken a long time, but I am getting back me.

Thank you all for being here every week with me from all over the world. You don’t know how much it means to me to that someone is actually listening to this fluffy Jersey girl who likes movies and promotes a healthy mental space.
