Sad and Soggy

Have you ever been so unprepared you wanted to cry?

So, I bought new shoes because my uniform shoes were messing with my knee. Walking was a struggle, my knee was swollen at one point. I think the way my foot would come down in the shoe was the problem. Not really sure, I'm not a doctor. I scraped my pennies together and bought new shoes and my leg felt better almost instantly. Fast forward to this week and I'm almost back to normal. My knee is still stiff but once I start moving it's not too bad.

On Wednesday I woke up and checked my phone for the weather like I do every morning. The weather app said it would be cloudy most of the day with storms in the evening. To me, evening means after 5 but I was proven wrong that day. I get to work load up the truck, talk to the people and all that. One co-worker asks me if I have my rain gear because it's going to be bad. Me still thinking the storms were going to be late in the day said I'm cool I have the umbrella hat. Not knowing what the day would bring.

My day was going pretty well until I stepped on a piece of mulch. Mulch, for those who don't know, is fine little bits of wood people put on their gardens. It comes in different colors reds, browns. Black seems to be trending on my route. This little piece of stupid wood some how managed to lodge itself between the side walk and a groove on the bottom of my new shoe. Instead of breaking under my weight it went through my shoe. Right through my whole fresh from the store shoe that I bought with my money. It went right through the bottom into my foot, I thought I had stepped on a nail the way it hurt. Luckily by the grace of God it didn't puncture my actual foot. If it had I don't know how I would have explained this to my managers. The first thing out of their mouths would have been "what shoes were you wearing?"

I have this hole in my shoe and the rain clouds are rolling in hard and fast. All I have is the umbrella hat, I haven't invested in new rain boots yet and it was too hot for the rain coat that I left in my car. I'm basically naked at this point. I managed to get the umbrella on before the first round of rain came, if I had stuck to my original plan I might have missed the brunt of the storm but my bladder lead me astray. By the time I finished that day I was soaked. My hat didn't stand a chance against the wind, if I had my rain coat it might have been a different story but I was soggy and over it.

Long story short don't trust the weather apps, they aren't always accurate.

Until next week,
Didd1y.
